FAQ

1. WHAT DO I NEED TO RENT A VEHICLE FROM RIVERSIDE RENTALS?

  • A Valid Full drivers licence applicable to the vehicle hired is required at time of collection of the vehicle. The licence must be in English with a photo and produced at rental commencement. If the license is not in English an accurate English translation from New Zealand Land Transport Authority must be presented.
  • A Bond of $250 is required for all hires, to be paid on or prior to collection.
  • A valid Credit Card for security purposes. If you do not own a credit card we require a $500 bond.
  • We accept Visa, Mastercard or debit cards provided they have the Mastercard/ Visa Logo on them.
     

2. HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO RENT A VEHICLE FROM RIVERSIDE RENTALS?

The minimum age to hire any vehicle is 21 years old

3. IS THERE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR MORE THAN ONE DRIVER?

No we do not charge for additional drivers, however all drivers must provide licence details at rental commencement

4. DOES RIVERSIDE RENTALS OFFER ONE-WAY RENTALS?

As we are Southland owned, and operate solely out of Invercargill, we do not offer one-way rentals. At the conclusion of hire our vehicles must be returned to Invercargill.

5. DO ALL VEHICLES COME WITH INSURANCE?

All vehicles are covered by insurance included in your daily hire charge. The standard insurance excess on all vehicles is $2300, however, there is the option for the excess to be reduced to $500 by paying an additional $25 per day provided all authorised drivers are over the age of 25.

6. WILL I GET A REFUND FOR EARLY RETURN?

Should you decide to voluntarily return the vehicle prior to the expiry of the hire term, the hirer will not be entitled to a refund.

7. CAN I EXTEND MY HIRE?

Yes, you can extend your hire depending on availability. Due to demand, at times we cannot guarantee any extension, but we will do our best to accommodate your request. If you would like to extend please phone our office.

8. CAN ANIMALS TRAVEL IN HIRED VEHICLES?

No, we do not allow animals to travel in our vehicles, except Certified Service Dogs
